Working women who sit and work for more than eight hours a day are 20 percent more likely to develop heart diseases. This has been revealed in a study by the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College. The study lasted 11 years, in which 1,05,677 men and women from 21 countries participated. Of these, 6,000 people have died, of which 2,300 were cases of heart attacks, 3,000 strokes and 700 were cases of heart failure. According to the researchers, this danger can be avoided by reducing the amount of time spent sitting continuously and increasing physical activity. Women can also do neck stretching or other light exercises by taking regular breaks in between work.
