A new study has shown that the consumption of strawberries in the daily diet may help not only in the prevention of Alzheimer's, but also in combating it. In this study conducted at RUSH University in the US, it was found that the bioactive compound pelargonidin present in strawberries can remove the confusion of the brain. Pelagonidin protects the brain of older people, especially women, from Alzheimer's. Mental confusion is one of the hallmarks of Alzheimer's, caused by abnormal changes in the brain's tau protein. The researchers looked at data from a total of 575 participants with complete dietary information during brain autopsies and then made these conclusions.
